As soon as Fr. Federico Ceriani and Fr. Daniel Ceratto arrived to St. Petersburg, they lived at “Mary’s Assumption” Parish, the Catholic Cathedral in St. Petersburg. Fr. Mazzeo who had been here since 1997 joined them in the community named “St. Peter Apostle”. After a month the parish priest at the Cathedral asked Fr. Daniel to be in charge of the youth group at the parish, of course with the help of an interpreter. Fr. Daniel worked in this group for a year until the community moved to its present house and the priests received other assignments from the bishop. Until present day Fr. Daniel still meets informally with these youths for some activities and some of them are nowadays member of the Center for Families.
Not long ago Fr. Daniel started to celebrate the Spanish Mass on Saturdays along with the Claretian fathers who work with the Spanish community in St. Petersburg. |
